Is there a Silver Lining of the challenges of today and the Shelter In Home. What if there is another way to look at things? Reconnecting with family, as there is more time at home. We see whole cities and countries coming together in the streets clapping for our real heroes and personalities, the health workers. We sit down together for dinner and finally have time for each other. Taking care of our environment. Reducing travel so that the environment, the skies, the air, our lungs all get a break. Parts of China are seeing blue sky and clouds for the first time in forever with the factories being shut down. Smarter working, not harder working. Working from home rather than commuting to work (less pollution, more personal time). We also get more work done and are more efficient with our zoom room meetings and daily work, giving us more time to ourselves in the evening. Our own mental health. An invitation to turn inwards -- a deep meditation -- rather than the usual extroverted going out to self-soothe. This time is an opportunity to reconnect with self -- “what is really important to me?” A reset economically. The Government and people are noticing the working poor. The lack of healthcare access for over 30 million in the US. The need for paid sick leave. How hard does one need to work to be able to live, to have a life outside of work? Basic Hygiene and, washing our hands -- how did that become a "new" thing that we needed to remember. But, yes, we did. What comes next for the world Maybe we will change what it means to be connected, humane, living a simpler life, to be less impactful on the environment and more kind to our neighbors and environment. Maybe we can notice other peoples' hardships a little more and start to care for those who are outside our family and friend circle. Maybe we can ask people we don't know how they are and really mean it. Maybe you will start to see a Silver Lining of your own ..
