5 Strategies to cope with Anxiety

Every human being at some moment in life has to go through the feeling of anxiety. It is common yet it is never easy to deal with. Here are some strategies that can help you cope with the feeling of anxiety:

The problem is we all think that we kind of know what relaxation means. For example, we think that sitting in front of television or watching Netflix can help us relax. While it works to some extent, it isn’t true relaxation. True relaxation requires involvement of your whole body and mind. Relaxation techniques such as tai chi, yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercises work better in making you feel peaceful and relaxed.

To prepare your mind and body to handle anxiety, we need to make sure both the mind and body are strong enough. It is imperative to get  a good amount of sleep every night, but not too much. A good 8 hour sleep is enough. You should also never skip a meal but choose to eat healthy. Healthy fruits and vegetables can do the trick. Try to avoid too much caffeine. Lastly, exercise at least 15-30 minutes daily. It keeps your mind and body fresh. Exercise increases oxygen intake in your body, thus making you healthier.

Having people around when you’re feeling stressed is the best way to deal with it. Find time to spend with your family and friends. You don’t always have to plan a get together or something, just hanging out works too. When you indulge in doing things with your loved ones, it keeps your mood happy and any anxiety or stress that you might be feeling goes away. If you’re not a social person, you can always confide and talk to someone you are close to, or those who understand you. Sometimes, we all need to be reminded that we are not the only ones who feel like this. It is a common feeling and everyone goes through it.

4. Go Amidst NatureGo amidst nature

The best way to cope with anxiety is to find peace amidst nature. Go for a hike in the woods or take a walk through a park in the morning. It helps you feel peaceful and relaxed. You can go alone or take a family member or friend with whom you are comfortable with. You get your daily exercise and relax yourself in the process as well.
